About the program

 

Mawhiba Universal Enrichment Program seeks to bring in world-class international initiatives focused on the education and nurturing of gifted students. The program is held in person at select local institutions across the Kingdom  at the host university for a period of three weeks during the summer vacation.

 

In the program, students participate in intensive enrichment courses in crucial scientific and technical fields, taught by international experts in gifted education. Through these courses, students develop a wide range of scientific and personal skills, alongside academic knowledge, by engaging in various activities and group trips.

 

Program Objectives: 

  1. Enrich students’ knowledge in both scientific and linguistic fields.
  2. Support students in identifying their future academic and career paths within scientific disciplines.
  3. Provide hands-on experience in completing university-level projects and assignments.
  4. Showcase national capabilities and prepare students to actively contribute to the Kingdom’s vision of becoming a knowledge-based society.
  5. Foster connections with international universities and broaden students’ opportunities for continued education and global engagement.
  6. Developing students' personal skills.


Note: Registration in the National Program for Gifted Identification is a prerequisite for nomination into the program.

Nomination and Registration

Registration/Nomination Requirements:

Eligible Students:

Students enrolled in the National Program for Gifted Identification, at Level 3 (Grades 9 to 11).

 

Registration Requirements:

  1. The student must be of Saudi nationality or born to a Saudi mother. Non-Saudi students will be admitted, but their number should not exceed 10% of the total student enrollment.
  2. The student must score 1400 or higher on the Mawhiba Multiple Cognitive Aptitude Test (MMCAT) (whether done in Arabic or English).
  3. Students who take the Mawhiba MMCAT in Arabic are also required to attain the minimum score on one of the following approved English language proficiency tests.

  4. The student must register using the Enrichment Programs Registration Portal, select the chosen program type, and complete all registration requirements.

  6. The student must pay the program fees for their final registration to be confirmed.

Program Partial Exemption Request:

You can apply for a partial exemption of program registration fees through the registration system if you fall into one of the following categories, provided that supporting documents should be attached for verification.

  • Families receiving social security benefits.
  • Individuals registered with a charitable organization.
  •  Children of martyrs.
  • Individuals whose financial incapacity is verified through a legal document, such as an insolvency certificate.

  • King Saud University – for male and female students

Male Students: In-person residential program with students living on campus at the host university.

Female Students: In-person day program  with students coming to university during program hours.

How do you get nominated for the Mawhiba Universal Enrichment Program?

By registering in the National Program for Gifted Identification on Mawhiba website.

Are parents allowed to visit their children if the program is held inside the Kingdom?

Visits are not permitted during the program, and students are not allowed to leave the program premises throughout their stay.

If I take the Mawhiba Multiple Cognitive Aptitude Test (MMCAT) in English, will I be waived from the requirement to obtain a score on one of the English language tests?

Yes, you can fulfill the requirement by taking the Mawhiba Multiple Cognitive Abilities Test (MMCAT) in English, as long as your score is 1400 or higher.

What is the language of instruction for the program?

The program is conducted in English, as it is led by a team of international experts.

What grade levels are targeted for enrollment in Mawhiba Universal Enrichment Program?

The Mawhiba Universal Enrichment Program targets students from Grade 9 to Grade 11.

When is the Mawhiba Universal Enrichment Program held?

are student participating in the Mawhiba Universal Enrichment Program required to live at the program's premises?

for male students, yes, they are required as this is a residential program, however, for female students only attendance during week days are required. 

What are the accommodation regulations?

The accommodation regulations for students participating in the Mawhiba Universal Enrichment Program are provided in the Program Overview, which includes details about the course or program in which the student is registered.

Will the student be compensated for the travel ticket to and from the program?

The student will not be compensated for the travel ticket, but Mawhiba provides transportation from Riyadh Airport or the train station according to the times specified in the program’s Guidelines and Accommodation Regulations for students.

What is the entry process for students coming from outside the program city via road travel?

Students traveling to the program city by road should go directly to the accommodation, where they will check in and out according to the times specified by Mawhiba. It is important for the parent to be present with the student at the time of check-in.

Are daily meals provided for students?

Yes, daily meals are provided to students during the program period including weekends. Snacks are also allowed to be brought or purchased if a service provider is available at the program location.

What do students get after completing their participation in the Mawhiba Universal Enrichment Program?

Students will receive a certificate of participation, certified by Mawhiba and the program host institution, provided that their attendance rate is at least 70%.

Can a student change the enrichment unit before the end of the registration period?

Yes, a student may change their enrichment unit before the registration period ends, provided that registration is still available in the desired unit.

Are the student rooms single or double?

The accommodation provides rooms for students, which can be either double (shared by two students) or single, depending on availability.

When is the arrival time for students participating in the program?

The arrival time for students participating in the program is clarified in the guidelines.

When should participating students leave the program?

Students must leave the program location on on the date and time clarified in the program guidelines.
