About the program

The Mawhiba Academic Enrichment Program aims to enhance the knowledge of both male and female students, develop their competencies and skills, and foster scientific and practical expertise using international methodologies. In addition, it offers activities designed to strengthen students’ personal skills, preparing them for active and distinguished participation in other programs sponsored and offered by Mawhiba, both within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and internationally.

These programs play a vital role in providing nationally recognized competencies that address developmental needs, including the preparation of distinguished professionals who are well integrated into both local and global labor markets.

Objectives

  • To enrich the knowledge of students enrolled in the Mawhiba Academic Enrichment Program.
  • To enhance competencies and skills, while cultivating scientific and practical experience based on international methodologies.
  • To provide nationally recognized capabilities that address developmental needs, including the preparation of distinguished cadres capable of effective integration into the local and global labor markets.

Target Students
The program targets students of the National Program for Giftedness Identification, from the third grade to eleventh grade of secondary school.

Program Registration Requirements
1.  The student must be of Saudi nationality or born to a Saudi mother. Non-Saudi students may be admitted, provided that their number does not exceed 10% of the total enrollment.
2. The student shall obtain the required score on the Mawhiba Multiple Cognitive Aptitude Test (MMCAT) according to the following table:

3. The student shall register using the Enrichment Program Registration Portal, select a program type, and complete the registration process.
4. The student must read and agree to the program’s terms and conditions, comply with its provisions, and confirm acceptance of full responsibility for any consequences.

5. The student must pay the program fees before their final registration can be confirmed. Fees are as follows (including Value Added Tax, VAT):

The program is implemented during the summer vacation for a duration of three weeks, according to the following schedule:

Program Components

The enrichment course for this year fall under the following basic scientific tracks:

  2. Physical, Earth and Space Sciences.
  3. Engineering and Architecture Sciences
  4. Computer Science, Applied Mathematics & Economic

In-Person (Commuter)
The program is a commuter program and requires attendance at the host organization during the scheduled program hours.

Pre- and post-assessment

Purpose of the assessments:

These assessments are designed to measure the students’ cognitive development and their mastery of the scientific domain covered in the enrichment unit, through:
1.    Pre-assessment: Evaluating students’ initial knowledge level in the scientific field prior to participation.
2.    Post-assessment: Measuring the educational impact of the program and identifying the extent of knowledge gained after completion.

General Instructions:
1.    The assessments are diagnostic tools, not pass/fail exams.
2.    Student results contribute directly to evaluating and improving program quality.
3.    Students are not permitted to retake the assessment once submitted within the specified timeframe.

What is the Mawhiba After School Enrichment Program?

The Mawhiba After School Enrichment Program is an educational initiative designed for students in Grades 7 to 11, offering 12 enrichment Units that are specifically tailored to the academic needs of this age group. The program takes place during the second semester.

- What is the process for nominating myself or my child for the Mawhiba After School Enrichment Program?

The student must be enrolled in the National Program for Gifted Identification and meet the admission standards and requirements specified on the registration page.

How do I pay the guardian contribution to register in the program?

Through the available payment services by choosing the payment method (credit cards - Mada).

What are the methods or approaches used in the Mawhiba academic enrichment program?

Mawhiba’s enrichment programs are based on the student being an active learner around whom all teaching and learning processes revolve, using a set of methods, the most important of which are:

  1. Learning by discovery
  2. Collaborative work
  3. Research
  4. Investigation, dialogue and discussion
  5. Practical exercises
Is there a specific city where the Mawhiba Academic Enrichment Program will be held?

The program is held in person in several cities, and is also implemented remotely. Students are allowed to register and choose the type of program or city they wish to join.

Is there a percentage for the student's attendance to obtain the certificate?
Yes, the student must attend all lectures and activities in the program and will be denied the award of the certificate if his/her attendance rate is less than (80%) of the program hours. It is also permissible, as an exception, to award the certificate to the student if his/her attendance rate is less than (80%) of the program hours if he/she presents an acceptable excuse, provided that the attendance rate is not less than (70%) of the program hours.
Can a student change the enrichment unit before the end of the registration period and after completing the payment of the guardian’s contribution?

Yes, it is possible to request a transfer between programs through the registration system if you have an approved registration according to the following conditions: -

  1. A transfer request between programs is only possible once.
  2. The transfer request must be submitted before the end of the registration period for the two programs.
  3. There must be an available seat in the program to which the student wishes to transfer.

In case the course you wish to transfer to requires payment of a “higher financial contribution”:

Steps to make a transfer:

  1. The student selects the icon to request transfer to another course.
  2. Then the student is asked to fill in the banking information.
  3. The student reviews the details of the course to which he/she is requested to transfer. To complete the transfer to the course, the student chooses to pay (requires a seat availability and during the registration period).
  4. The student must pay for the transfer to be successful.
  5. A message appears stating that the process was completed successfully, and the student can view the registration in the “View Participation Requests” icon.

 

In the event that the course to which you wish to transfer does not require payment of an “equal financial contribution”:

Steps to make a transfer:

  1. The student selects the icon to request transfer to another course.
  2. Then the student is asked to fill in the banking information.
  3. The student reviews the details of the course to which he/she is requested to transfer to complete the transfer to the course by clicking on the transfer request icon (requires a seat availability and during the registration period)
  4. A message appears stating that the process was completed successfully, and the student can view the registration in the “View Participation Requests” icon.

 

In the event that the course to which you wish to transfer requires a refund of the difference (lower financial contribution):

Steps to make a transfer:

  1.  The student selects the icon to request transfer to another course.
  2. Then the student is asked to fill in the banking information.
  3. The student reviews the details of the course to which he/she is requested to transfer to complete the transfer to the course by clicking on the transfer request icon (requires a seat availability and during the registration period)
  4. A message appears stating that the process was completed successfully, and the student can view the registration in the “View Participation Requests” icon.

What is the language of the program?
The units are offered in Arabic, and some are offered in English. It is preferable for those selected to be fluent in English.
Is an English language test required to register for units offered in English?

The student is not required to have a score on one of the English language tests to register for the program, but the student is required to be proficient in the English language.

What is the mechanism for accessing the Mawhiba e-learning platform?

  1. The student must adhere to the following instructions while participating in the program:  

  2. Provide a computer.  

  3. Provide internet network.  

  4. Make sure you have the correct username and password for your Mawhiba account before starting the program.
