The Saudi Mathematics Team, represented by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) and the Ministry of Education, secured 10 international awards at the 37th Asian Pacific Math Olympiad (APMO 2025), including 6 bronze medals and 4 certificates of appreciation. The competition featured 335 students from 37 countries.
The six bronze medals were awarded to Ahmed Farid Al-Khallawi – the General Directorate of Education in Jeddah, Yousef Ayman Bakhit – the Royal Commission of Education in Yanbu, Abdulsalam Abdullah Al-Salmi – the General Directorate of Education in Madinah, Moath Saeed Al-Qahtani – the General Directorate of Education in the Eastern Province, Ahmed Saad Al-Shahri – the General Administration of Education in Riyadh, and Elias Shaker Al-Faraj – the General Directorate of Education in the Eastern Province.
Certificates of appreciation went to Abdullah Tareq Al-Amer and Mohammed Ahmed Al-Ghamdi – the General Directorate of Education in the Eastern Province, Fatimah Hassan Bouali – the General Directorate of Education in Ahsa, and Yousef Farid Al-Khallawi – General Directorate of Education in Jeddah.
This participation is part of the Mawhiba International Olympiad Program, one of the foundation’s most prominent initiatives, designed to develop and empower gifted students in specialized scientific disciplines through advanced and intensive training programs supervised by elite local and international experts.
The APMO, conducted online, is a leading competition in mathematics, aiming to identify and foster gifted students, strengthen international student and teacher connections, and provide a platform for knowledge exchange in this vital scientific domain.
This achievement underscores Saudi Arabia’s growing presence in international scientific arenas, reflecting its commitment to investing in national talent, fostering excellence and innovation, and advancing a visionary agenda for a knowledge-based society and an economy driven by creativity and giftedness.
