The King Abdulaziz & His Companions Foundation for Giftedness & Creativity "Mawhiba" signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Huawei Tech Investment Saudi Arabia Co Ltd, with the aim of cooperating in the field of developing the digital skills of young “Mawhiba" students, building the capacities of Mawhiba program trainers and providing them with the necessary technical skills, to bridge the gap in technical fields.
Such MOU was signed in the presence of HE. Dr. Saud Al-Mathami -Mawhiba Secretary General, Mr. Hou Tao, Global Vice President of Huawei Technologies Co Ltd, Dr. Nazeeh Al-Othmany, Mawhiba Deputy Secretary General for Corporate Communications and Business Development, and Mr. Stephen Liu, Deputy CEO of Huawei Tech Investment Saudi Arabia Co Ltd at the Foundation's premises in Riyadh, along with the presence of a number of senior Huawei officials in Saudi Arabia and Mawhiba leaders.
The MOU stipulates that both parties cooperate within Huawei's ICT Academy, which aims to bridge the gap in finding gifted people in the technology field. This can be achieved through training students nominated by “Mawhiba" on advanced and emerging technologies, as well as nurturing gifted people in the technical field, and provide the Foundation with access to Huawei's virtual platform for gifted people and its educational resources required.
Furthermore, the cooperation includes “Mawhiba" selecting two training sessions to obtain a certified professional certificate from Huawei's Certified ICT Associate (HCIA) to be presented within the framework of Huawei ICT Academy Program, which are sessions that provide a comprehensive understanding of public network technologies, and the ability to design and implement them.
According to the MOU, Huawei will train university staff and qualified members of the Mawhiba Foundation in the two programs of the HCIA Professional Network Certificate in Information and Communication Technology, as well as Huawei's delegation to Mawhiba to use its available simulation software tools during the learning of the students of the Academy of Information and Communication Technology of the "Mawhiba" Foundation.
Moreover, the areas of cooperation include nominating Mawhiba students for the Huawei Future Leaders Program and providing opportunities for students who have passed the exams to obtain intensive theoretical and practical training over the period of three months before their appointment with Huawei.
Within the framework of the MOU, Huawei will launch its Global ICT Talent Competition for Mawhiba students with Diploma, Bachelor and Post-Graduation degrees, to showcase their giftedness at the national, regional and global levels as part of Huawei's competition platform.
Additionally, the areas of cooperation include implementing awareness-raising campaigns in the field of communications and information technology, stimulating registration in the Huawei Digital Competition, and launching awareness-raising programs for Mawhiba students.
