King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity "Mawhiba" announced the names of the students selected to represent the Kingdom at the the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF 2022) to be held in the United States in the upcoming May, totaling 35 male and female students who joined to represent the the Saudi Team of Science and Engineering after a year-long and 7-phase arbitration journey of competition, training, and qualification.

A statement issued by Mawhiba indicated that the members of the Saudi Team of Science and Engineering were chosen from among the 40 winners of the major prizes in the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity "Ibdaa 2022"after participating in a workshop held at Mishkat Fair in Riyadh, during which they received extensive training.
The statement added: The choice of such names came after a year-long journey that started with 103,000 students, going through seven stages, the most recent of which was the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity, which was hosted in Al Madinah Al Munawwarah from the period of 2-5 February. 152 students were nominated for the Fair, of whom 40 won the major Olympiad prizes.
The statement added: Mawhiba will organize a training camp for the Kingdom's Science and Engineering Team by selected academics, experts and arbitrators in various disciplines, to develop presentation and speaking skills, and prepare to participate in the arbitration at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair "ISEF 2022."
Members of the Scientific Committee and the Arbitration Committee will also hold a series of individual interviews with participating students to review and provide scientific support to thereto, provide them with the necessary scientific tools and skills, as well as review the elements of the scientific project.
The Kingdom, represented by Mawhiba, will participate in ISEF 2022 as a main sponsor. It also presents a special award for the best projects participating in the energy field, as it usually does every year. This is its 16th consecutive participation, starting in 2007 as part of an annual program organized by the Mawhiba Foundation, in partnership with the Ministry of Education.
During the previous participation in ISEF, Saudi students won 83 prizes, including 53 grand awards and 30 special awards. The Foundation also presented special annual international prizes in the competition for students from 20 countries.
The Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) is the world's largest pre-university science research and innovation competition, drawing more than 2,000 students from more than 80 countries.
