Sultan Imad Al-Din Asraf, a student from Ibn Khaldoun Secondary School in Yanbu, was able to transform his annoyance with the large number of credit cards belonging to the family, which he sometimes has to carry with him, into thinking of inventing a new program for ATMs, which he called “Fingerprint.”
The "fingerprint" is an electronic computer program used in bank ATMs, which allows a person to dispense with the many bank cards he carries with him due to his multiple bank accounts, by merging all his bank accounts in the various banks he deals with, into only one magnetic card, so that the Saudi Monetary Agency (SAMA), which is affiliated with the government agencies, is responsible for the databases of this service.
Student Sultan says: “This idea also provides additional protection for the customer, by verifying the fingerprint for every banking transaction he makes.” He adds: “In the event that the card is stolen, the program saves the thief’s fingerprint and reports him to the relevant authorities, clarifying the date and time of the attempt, in addition to the photo and fingerprint of the person who made this failed attempt to identify him through the central database, and then convict him in the manner it deems appropriate.”
It is noteworthy that the student Sultan Asraf won this idea in the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity “Ibd’a” in first place out of “128” projects in the Innovation track.
In a related context, the student Abdullah Al-Kanaan came up with an idea to develop an ironing device, which he called the smart iron, through which he was able to make the iron lift itself, in case it was forgotten, to avoid any fires in the fabric, God forbid.
