His story is the story of a teacher who passionately teaches and changes the lives of his students.. The story of two parents who know their educational role with distinction.. The story of a student.. He loved mathematics and with his love he went beyond the framework of the curriculum and the class and hung a silver medal and two bronze medals in international forums!
He is Saleh Saad Saleh Al-Ghamdi, born in Al-Baha region. He was an ordinary student among twenty students in his class, aspiring like millions of students, to get an excellent grade that would qualify him to enter university, from which he would obtain an excellent certificate that would qualify him to get a job. What distinguished him was that his parents were aware enough to take good care of his mind, and tell him that there are sixty different ways of thinking, and that life is a game that needs a good player!
Saleh was lucky enough to have a professional coach who taught him the rules of the game at the beginning of his life. His mathematics teacher in the first intermediate grade was Jumaan Al-Zahrani, the ideal teacher who not only explained his lessons, but also lavishly showered his students with love!
What was the result?
Saleh loved mathematics and was passionate about it, so many details changed in his reality, and even in his dreams. Saleh went beyond his love for mathematics outside the framework of the curriculum and class, and made it his winning card. He won fifth place in the National Mathematics Olympiad 2011, and also won third place in the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals Olympiad at the level of the second and first secondary grades in 2011, and tenth place in the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals Olympiad at the level of the second, first and third secondary grades in 2011.
In 2012, his dreams became bigger, his relationship with success became a passion, and mathematics became his favorite hobby. He won the silver medal in the Gulf Olympics, and won the bronze medal in the Balkan Olympics, to finally crown that with him winning the bronze medal in the 2012 World Olympics.
The story wasn't quite golden!
Saleh says that competitions have clearly affected him on both the cognitive and skill levels, and were the ideal environment for him to learn and gain knowledge, because they entail a challenge that requires self-effort.. but at the same time, they require him to be determined to succeed, and patient.. it depends on the challenge.. so losing is a possible option! Whoever does not accept losing.. the game is not suitable for him from the beginning!
Saleh says this because his first competitive participation was in the Science Olympiad when he was in the first middle school grade, where he was able to qualify, but was excluded in the final stage! However, he is very grateful for this experience, because he learned from it how to play it well the next time! This simple experience made him an international winner.. that his father, his school, and even his entire country are proud of him!
My parents were the main rock!
Saleh says that his parents played an ideal role in his success story. They did not teach him mathematics, but they taught him that life is full of winning opportunities, that success is based on desire and patience, and that dreams become reality if their owner wants them to. When a competition was announced, they were behind him to participate in it, and when he participated, they were with him to tell him that he would definitely succeed. This support provided Saleh a lot.. and made him a source of pride for his family and his country!
Saleh now.. He finished his high school studies with three world medals.. He currently lives in Jeddah, studying in the preparatory year at King Abdulaziz University.. He dreams of becoming a distinguished doctor.. Trying to make the field of medicine his new game.. Will he win it too? The future will tell us one day, without a doubt..!
