In her childhood she was very serious, she felt different, but it remained an inner feeling that teased her, the conversations of her peers did not attract her, the occasions did not excite her. I loved chemistry from Ibn Sina, and I cried a lot about the glories of Muslims!! Usually, and she was not the type to get excited about it, she was calm, simple, she was in short... a girl who ate, drank, and slept in the library, she loved books!
Since middle school, she has been collecting newspaper clippings. She was fascinated by literature and poetry, and enchanted by medicine and biology books. She collected the information she liked in notebooks that she still keeps . She collected newspaper clippings from middle school, and recorded the information in notebooks that she still keeps! Until now.. She often dreamed of being like Al-Khwarizmi. She loved chemistry from Ibn Sina. She was excited by Galileo's discovery of the microscope, and Robert Koch's discovery of fever.. And she often cried over the glories of Muslims!
Mona owes a lot to the books she read after the grace of God, from which she learned, from which she began to dream, from which she learned persistence and determination, and from which she loved to learn more.. So she succeeded and excelled, then she was creative and distinguished herself to become what she is now:
She is the inventor Dr. Mona Mohammed Al-Dosari, born in Al-Kharj Governorate, holds a PhD in Science - specializing in Zoology - and currently works as a faculty member in the Biology Department at the College of Science and Humanities (Associate Professor) at Salman bin Abdulaziz University in Al-Kharj.
Most importantly, she received a grant from King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology to support her master’s and doctoral research, and she received the Almarai Award for Scientific Creativity in the Creative Work Branch, and a patent from the Patents Department - King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology.
And more;
She was awarded an industrial model certificate for the industrial model “Bird House”, a gold medal from the Saudi Society for Life Sciences Award, a certificate of appreciation and a gold medal for her participation in the Innovation Exhibition 2010, and the award of His Excellency the Director of Salman bin Abdulaziz University for the best performance indicator for patents, 2010.
Golden Turn:
Dr. Mona, although she owes much to her old readings and her early dreams after God, considers the postgraduate stage to be the golden turning point in her life, and the stage of achievements that she is proud of, as this stage satisfied her passion for scientific research and discovery, especially in the field of insects - her precise specialization.
Dr. Mona started working on her doctoral thesis project on the red palm weevil, and many questions and assumptions arose in her mind. She began researching, designing, and experimenting until she reached the design of the olfactory response device, using what previous scientists had discovered, and developed it to obtain a patent from King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology.
Dr. Mona Al-Dosari's innovations:
Insect olfactory response tester:
It is a device that tests the ability of insects to test the smells they are exposed to, either by responding to them as an attractant or by avoiding them as a repellent.
Improved Olfactory Response Tester for Red Palm Weevil:
It is a development of the previous idea, and is still under study and examination at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology.
Industrial Model Certificate for Design "Bird Houses":
It is a design for a simple model through which the researcher can raise insects, especially the red palm weevil.
A person's message defines their dreams; and my dreams never end!
In order to reach the knowledge that qualifies us for achievement, we need research! Dr. Mona believed that civilization is built on knowledge and achievements. She also believed that achievements are the result of reading and knowledge, and in order to reach the knowledge that qualifies us for achievement, we need research!
As much as she believed in this message, she built many dreams.. She wanted to become a researcher, and she was able to be.. She dreamed of being an innovator, and she was able to be.. She still dreams of having a name that history will immortalize, and a scientific legacy that generations after her will benefit from, and to establish a chair to support scientific research, and to obtain the Nobel Prize, and the King Faisal Prize.. and to be a person similar to those she read about in her early days and loved.. Ibn Sina.. Al-Khwarizmi.. Archimedes!
Dr. Mona is a model of a person who is made by reading and the message!
