About the program

Program Objective

This program aims to expose gifted students to advanced learning experiences that are broader and deeper than those provided in their regular schools, in order to motivate them to discover more concepts in mathematics and science, and to unleash their latent energies, and this is done in an additional period of time outside of official school hours.

Note:  Registration in  the National Program for Gifted Identification is a  prerequisite for nomination into the program.
Program justifications 

This program will provide gifted students with in-depth learning opportunities that enrich their school programs by teaching them the gifted curricula in science and mathematics, which were designed in cooperation with foreign and Arab expertise houses, most of which were built in a manner consistent with the curricula of the Ministry of Education, so as to challenge the abilities of gifted students. They are taught by specialized teachers who are able to meet the needs and interests of gifted students.

 
Advanced Mawhiba Curricula

Mawhiba's curricula focus on three axes: 

  • Advanced values, attitudes and traits such as inquiry, flexibility, creativity and independence in study, openness to different alternatives, and perseverance.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding. Such as clarity of concepts, understanding of mathematical and scientific topics and principles, grasping big ideas, using proofs, scientific inquiry, and understanding the basic structure of mathematics and science.
  • Advanced skills. Such as logical thinking, reasoning, forming abstract mental images, and linking acquired skills on the one hand with the context of normal life and its problems on the other hand. Fluency, accuracy in use, communication skills and their tools, metacognitive abilities, generalization and modeling.

The program is implemented remotely through the Mawhiba e-learning portal, which serves gifted students in all regions of the Kingdom.

Care in the Advanced Talent Program will be through one of the following two paths:
  • Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm according to the program’s academic calendar
  • Sunday and Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm according to the program’s academic calendar. *Outside the academic hours specified by the Ministry of Education .

Program registration requirements

1. The student must be of Saudi nationality or have a Saudi mother. The remaining non-Saudis will be accepted, not exceeding 10% of the total number of students.

2. The student must obtain the required score on the Mawhiba scale for multiple mental abilities.

6. A student nominated for admission to the Mawhiba Classes Program in the elementary and intermediate stages - who did not have the opportunity to join Mawhiba Classes or did not wish to do so due to personal circumstances - has the right to join the Mawhiba Advanced Program in Science and Mathematics, and he/she does not have the right to combine the two programs.
7. The student must pay the financial contribution after registering in the system within one hour to avoid cancellation of registration and for his/her final registration in the program to be approved.

The program is offered in Arabic – entirely remotely on the Mawhiba e-learning platform, during the academic year. 
The program is divided into two tracks: the student must choose the most appropriate one during registration and is not entitled to request a transfer later to the other track.

What is the Advanced Mawhiba Program in Science and Mathematics?

It is a program offered entirely remotely through the Mawhiba e-learning platform outside of school hours. It targets primary and intermediate school students who have been nominated based on the results of the Mawhiba Multiple Cognitive Abilities Scale within the National Program for Giftedness Identification, with the aim of exposing gifted students to advanced learning experiences that are broader and deeper than the experiences offered in their regular schools, in order to motivate them to discover more concepts in mathematics and science, and to unleash their latent energies. 

What are the justifications for the program?

This program provides gifted students with in-depth learning opportunities that enrich their school programs by teaching them the gifted curricula in science and mathematics that were designed in cooperation with foreign and Arab expertise houses, and were built, for the most part, in a manner consistent with the curricula of the Ministry of Education, so that they challenge the abilities of gifted students . What are the target grades for entry into the programs?

Students moving from fourth grade to third middle school.

What are the mechanisms for implementing the program?

The program is implemented remotely through the Mawhiba e-learning portal “Classera”, which serves gifted students in all regions of the Kingdom.

What cities does the program currently cover?

Distance learning centers serve students in all regions of the Kingdom.

What language is the program offered in?

The program is offered in Arabic only. The test at the end of the program is identical to the language of instruction.

What courses does the student study in the program?

Advanced curricula in mathematics and sciences that were designed in cooperation with foreign and Arab expertise, and were built, for the most part, in a manner consistent with the curricula of the Ministry of Education, so as to constitute a challenge to the capabilities of gifted students.

How can a student get the curriculum?

The books are electronic only and the student can view and download a copy of them through his account on the Mawhiba e-learning platform.

How long is the study period in the program during the year?

The study period is 20 weeks divided into semesters of the academic year at a rate of 3 hours per week according to the chosen track.

What tracks does the program offer and is there a difference in the total hours in one track from another?

There are two tracks in the program and the student can choose what suits him from among them: 

  • First track: (Saturday track) Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm according to the program’s academic calendar. 

  • Track Two: (During the week) Sunday and Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm according to the program’s academic calendar. 

    There is absolutely no difference in the total number of program hours between the two tracks. The only difference is in the way the study hours are distributed.
Are students evaluated in the program?

Yes, students’ performance is evaluated in three separate periods during the academic year:

  • The first term evaluation is done before the end of the first semester.   
  • The second term evaluation is done before the end of the second semester. 
  •  The annual examination (final examination) is held immediately after the end of the program in the third semester.
Are virtual classes shared between boys and girls?

Boys' virtual classes are separate from girls' virtual classes.

Is there any financial support provided by Mawhiba to the student in this program?

There are specific categories that are partially exempt from paying the program fee, which can be found through the registration system.

Can the Mawhiba Classes Program be combined with the Mawhiba Advanced Program?

No. The guardian is responsible for verifying that the student is not registered in both programs together. If this is proven, Mawhiba has the right to cancel the student’s registration in any of the partnership programs.

What are the admission requirements for the program?

What are the eligibility requirements for the program?

The student must have obtained a score of 1500 or higher on the Mawhiba scale for multiple mental abilities in the years (2022/2023/2024).

2. The student must be a regular student in the current academic year in one of the following grades: (Third - Fourth - Fifth - Sixth - Seventh - Eighth)

3. The student must not be registered or regular in Mawhiba classes within the School Partnership Management programs.

Will the program registration be cancelled if payment is not made within the specified time?

The student must pay the financial contribution after registering in the system within one hour of registration, in order for his/her final registration in the program to be approved. If payment is not made within that period, the registration will be automatically cancelled and the student will be considered not registered in the program.

What is the policy if there is a desire to cancel registration in the program?

Cancellation and refund requests are submitted through the website only. This must be done within the period allowed for canceling registration in programs with a refundable financial contribution, in accordance with the Foundation’s policy in this regard, where the cancellation request is processed and the financial contribution is returned within 30 days of accepting the refund request, after deducting (10%) of its value, provided that the value of the deducted amount is not less than (150) riyals. 

What is the financial contribution to the program?

The amount of the financial contribution to register in the program is 500 riyals, excluding value-added tax. It is paid through the available payment options. 

Can I withdraw from the program during its implementation period?

Yes, if the student wishes to withdraw from the program, he/she can submit a withdrawal request, explaining the reasons for the request, to Mawhiba through the customer service system or by sending an email to mcare@mawhiba.org.sa . Please note that the withdrawal request does not include a refund of the financial contribution value.

How can a student know the start date of the program?

The program start date and study dates are specified in the registration system. We hope you review them to verify that the dates are suitable for the student before reserving a seat.

How can a student know the department and the arrangement of the program’s study periods?

Through text messages, the student is notified of the name of the department and provided with a link to the program’s academic schedule as well as exam dates on the guardian’s phone number registered in the application. The student can find out this information through his/her account on the Mawhiba Education Platform. The program schedule is also published on the program’s page on the official website.

Where can I find the program's schedule?

 The detailed study schedule is added to the registration system for each track in the (Program/Course Overview) box.

Is the student required to attend all virtual classes?

A certificate of attendance will not be issued to the student unless his attendance rate exceeds 85% of the number of hours required for the entire program.

How can a student or guardian communicate with teachers?

Through the Mawhiba e-learning platform, the student can communicate directly with any of his teachers via the messaging feature throughout the program period.

Is the guardian notified of the student's absence from classes periodically?

The guardian is notified via text messages about the student’s absence for the first week only to verify that there is no problem preventing the student from properly accessing the virtual classroom. Otherwise, the guardian can inquire directly from the teacher or system administrator about the hours of absence through the messaging system in the student’s account on the Mawhiba e-learning platform.

Why is the program offered remotely and not in person?

The Advanced Mawhiba Program in Science and Mathematics is the parallel program to the Mawhiba Classes Program, which is implemented in person in a number of cities in the Kingdom, and is offered entirely remotely in order to serve all qualified students in all cities of the Kingdom.  

One of the difficulties we may face is the payment icon not appearing during registration or the sharing icon not appearing. What is the solution?

Please use Google Chrome browser when trying to register with smartphone or computer to view the registration page correctly.

How can I pay the financial contribution to the program?

Electronic payment is currently available on the system and the guardian can use the appropriate cards available to him.

I registered in a track and want to move to another track, how can I do that?

If the financial contribution value has been paid and the registration request status becomes (approved), the transfer request can be submitted directly through the system by clicking on the (Request to transfer to another course) icon. Then choose the course you wish to transfer to. 

If the application status is (pending/awaiting payment) and the financial contribution value has not been paid, it is preferable to wait until the end of the payment deadline specified in the invoice and update the registration status to (cancelled).  

Then register again in the program in the path you want. 

How can I view the status of my exemption request?

The status of the exemption request can be viewed through the registration system by clicking on the partial exemption request icon.  

If the exemption request is returned by the registration officer, please modify the request according to the note received, attach the required documents, and then click on the (Modify) icon to resubmit the request. 

What is the deadline after which a student's registration is considered cancelled?

If payment is not made within one hour of registration, registration will be automatically cancelled and the student will be considered not registered in the program. 

When can a student submit a transfer request between tracks and when is the transfer request accepted?

The student can request a transfer between tracks after paying the financial contribution through the registration system.   The transfer request is automatically accepted in the system if there is a vacancy in the track to which he/she wishes to transfer before the end of the registration period.

If I have a question or comment (during the program period), how can I contact the program management?

You can contact the program management directly by sending an inquiry or request to the system manager in the advanced Mawhiba program through the student’s account on the Mawhiba e-learning platform.

Is transfer between routes (Saturday route, weekday route) available?

Transfer is available between tracks during the registration period only and subject to seat availability in the track to which you wish to transfer. 

The transfer is done directly through the student’s account in the registration system without the need to submit a request to Mawhiba. 

Is transportation available during the school year?

Due to the limited number of seats in each track, transfer is available during the registration period only according to the available seats in the track you want to transfer to, so please make sure to choose the appropriate track for the student at the time of registration and check that there is no conflict between the dates of sports activities and other programs the student is enrolled in during the academic year.
